PERSISTENT MISREPRESENTATION.
Mr J. T. M. Hornsby, the Government candidate for the Wairarapa seat, persists in telling the electors of the backibloeks that every great measure placed upon the Statute Book for the past twenty-one years has (been resisted by the Opposition. As some i6f the more i&usceptible of the voters .may ibe tempted to give credence to this .statement, it is asi well that it .should Ibe given an absolute denial. Many of the measures which are now aipon the Statute Book have not only been supported by the Opposition, but have, been thieved from that .party's platform. Th: j universal franchise and advances to workers proposals were both advocated, by tine Opposition .before they were appropriated -by the Government. It is a. piece of sublime impertinence If or any candidate to suggest that every great measure has been resisted hy the Opposition.
