TOTALISATOR PERMITS.
It would appear that the Govern* menfb is determined that the finding of the' Racing Comimis&ion shall not be disturbed, at least for a year. This practically means that Mr Jennings' Bill is doomed, and ■that there is no hope for the restoration of the licenses off. country racing clubs which have been wiped out. The Government is to be commended for standing by a Ooimmission of its own « appointment; but it will 1 have to take I no small share of the responsibility I ifor the .personnel of the Commission, and the order of reference upon which the report was based.
