A DISQUIETING REPORT.
A report is being industriously circulated to the effect that the return, of Sir Joseph Ward, Bart., to Wellington is to be made the occasion fora hostile demonstration on the part of a 'section of the com•munity. It is to be hoped, for the (sake of the reputation of Wellington,, that the report is without fouri'dation. However much the public imay disagree with the methods of Sir" Joseph Ward in endeavouring to thrust hi§. own views down the •throats of the delegates to the Imperial Conference as those of the Dominion, and in accepting an aristocratic title, there can be no excuse for tthis disagreement being emphasized iby an exhibition of horse-play. Tihe proper place for demonstrating the public disapproval of the policy and methods of Sir Joseph is at the ballotHbox. And there .is only a few weeks to''Wait.
