SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH.

(Received August 19, 9.15 a.m.) jPERTH, August 19. The Sweedish scientific expedition under Dr. Mjoberg has returned here, after spending seven months in the Kimberley district. The expedition .secured a splendid collection of birds, mammals, reptiles, fish and insects, one of them new to science. The leader stated that he had discovered a striking resemblance between the aboriginals and the old Neanlerthal race, which became extinct in Europe centuries ago. The inland natives are a much finer type than the costal natives, who show traces of Malay-blood.
