A PLEASING CEREMONY.

PRESENTATION TO AN EMPLOYEE. A pleasing ceremony took place on Saturday morning, when the employees of the Masterton Farmers' Im--plement Company assembled together to 'bid farewell to the Company's Engineer, Mr John Cole, who is leaving the employ of the firm to follow farming pursuit*. Mr J. H. Pauling, the manager, on behalf of those present, referred in glowing - terms to the many sterling qualities - of Mr Cole, who had been .connected with the firm for ifrie> past fourteen years. • Those present felt that they could not let him depart from their ' midst without showing in some de- ■ gree their regard and esiteem, and he (Mr Pauling) had very much pleasure in handing to the departing member f -of flhe' staff a handsome pair of travelling rugs, and a case containing a gold-mounted cigarette holder, which it waSj hoped •would be a reminder/of the, ..pleasant., relation ship which always existed between it'hem. The recipient, ,in a few brief words, warmly thanked those present for the kindly'"thought which had prompted their action. At the conclusion of the ceremony three ringing cheers were given for Mr Cole, and the best wishes were expressed for his success in his new , sphere of life. Mr Cole will leave Masterton about ; the end of the present month, for his home at Makairo, near tua. ■
