(From Our Own Correspondent#.' CARTERTON. The mortal remains of the late Mrs A. C. Broadbent were laid to rest in the Cla-revill© Cemetery yesterday morning, in. the presence of a large number of sympathising friends. A short service was held at St. Mark's Church, and the Rev. R. Young also conducted a. short service at the graveside. Many beautiful floral tributes' covered the casket, and l;hc pall-bearers were Messrs vV. C. Jiuchinnan, M.P., H. S. Moss. H. It. Bunny, C. H. Cormack, W. Hcnv trtl Booth, and Dr Johnston. The Master tori Gun Club has •>.- vited the members of the local Gu>» Cluib to take part in a- twenty-).!# clay bird match on August 24th. Tho nomination fee is 20s, and the luandicappers will comprise a representative from each club present. A very enjoyable social was held at Olarevilie on Tuesday evening, i> rider the auspices of the local Brass Band, and passed off very successfully. The Hibernian Lodge, winners Of the Mastterton Friendly Societies* card tournament, have invited the winners of the Carterton tournament to a friendly game at a date to be arranged.
