MAURICEVILLE WEST.
The monthly meeting of the School Committee was to have taken place on Saturday, but lapsed for want of a quorum. The attendance at the local school is improving, the majority of the children having recovered from the epidemic of measles which has visited nearly every home. The wOod-outting plant from Eketahuna has arrived at last. Anxious eyes have been watching for some time for the machine which helps to make the winter evenings more enjoyable and comfortable. The wea'ther has been seasonable of late, without a doubt. A meeting was held on. Friday night for the purpose of re-organis-ing the local branch, of the Farmers* Union. Mr Herbert addressed a crowded house at the Old School on Saturday nkrht.
