BLACKSOD BAY.
Amongst the documents laid before the Imperial Conference by the supporters of the "All-Hod. Route" was a report by ,Sir Cyprian Bridge favouring Biaok'Sod Bay, on the West Coast of Ireland, a,& the, ; port for the arrival of iships bringing food in, time of' war. , Admiral Bridge points out "that Blaoksod Bay, being more remote from ia .probable enemy'© ■base, ia (smaller force wo-uid be necessary to defend it than any othier line of communication to the United Kingdom. It was further suggested by supporters of the route that Blacksod Bay is a port to which cargoes of neutral vessels could be eoiirisigned if tihe declaration of London' is approved, .without danger of interference from hostile warships.
