A MINISTER'S INSOLENCE.
RESENTED BY CITY COUNCIL.

The City Council to-night resolved, That the members of this Council consider the action of the Minister of Public Works in refusing to allow the Acting-Mayor of Wellington (as Chairman of a deputation of delegates representing the various centres of New Zealand) to speak oil the proposed tramway regulations, and his threat as a Minister of the Crown to eject him from the room, was an unwarrantable and.unjustifial)lo insult to the deputation; and' also to the citizens of • Wellington; that the Council begs to itssture the-; Acting-Mayor-that the insolence of the Minister has. itafy in. any way shaken the: confidence?? •■&s'■ the. Council or of the* citizens; of" Wellington in his honour, integrity, and capacity as Acting-Mayor; and that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Acting-Prime Minister.
