LABOUR MINISTRY RESIGNS.

A QUESTION OF SUPPLY

(Received Last Night, 9 o'clock.)

SYDNEY, July 27. The Legislative Council passed the Supply Bill at 5.30 o'clock to-night. Shortly afterwards, Mr Holman entered the Assembly and announced: "In view of the position which bas arisen in the House, I and my colleagues determined to tender the Lieutenant-Governor certain advice, which His Excellency could not see his way to accept. I have, therefore, placed the resignation of the Ministry in his hands." Mr Holman added that the Lieuten-ant-Governor had asked him to communicate at once with Mr McGowen, but he, had not yet had the opportunity of doing so. He would cable him to-night. He moved that the House adjourn and await Mr McGowen's reply. Mr Wade objected to the adjournment on the ground that the only person constitutionally to resign was Mr McGowen, and the proceedings were premature. The House should also have passed the Supply Bill final stages.
