THE ELECTORAL CENSUS.
TO BE COMMENCED ON MONDAY An electoral census for the district of Masterton will be taken',, commencing on Monday next. In. the thickly-populated parts, a house-to-house canvass will be mad©, while in the sparsely-populated portions of ....-the electorate the various postmasters will be asked to report to the Registrar the ejectors who have ' left' the district, and also to supply a list to the Registrar of persons who have come into the district and are apparently eligible to bo put on the Roll. The Registrar will then post forms of enrolment' to those per- ' 3 sons. At each post office there will be deposited a copy of the Electoral Roll for-inspection and forms of en-. rohnenit, Persons wiho refuse to supW~ ply the enrolling" officers with the inforanatdon a® to the names, occupations and addresses of persons residing oia the premises are liable to a fine of £5 under the Legislature Amendment Act of last session.
