LAND MONOPOLY.
Mexico's troubles are said to he due to land monopoly. The Morning Albertan, of Calgary, .states, this on the authority of a Mr White.: "He owns a. ranch some miles out of Hermosdllo that consists of 87,000 acres of arable land. Tliis great area of land has been the camping ground for weeks of ba&ds of insiurrectos.
Though Mr White's property has been properly pillaged by the men who would overthrow the despot, Diaz, the Southern rancher's sympathies do not lie with the Mexican Government. The revolutionary forces, said Mo- White, are made up for the greater part of sincere men, who have a real grievance. These men will fight till the bitter end, and the trouble in Mexico, (thought to be iso unimportant to many observers, will not end until the rebels win their cause'Whetn it is considered,' continued Mr White, 'that more than, half the area of Mexico is held by the monopolists, and when it is borne in mind that the poor people are starving beoause they are not allowed to occupy these lands, them one cannot but think kindly of the men who are fighting for their liberty.'
