CORONATION MEDALS.
. «.—— !N THE FORTY-MILE BUSH. Yesterday was a red-lotter day so far as several of Lhe State schools in j tlib Forty-Mile Bush were concerned. At tuo invitation' of various Committees, Mr A. H. Vile, a member of tile Wellington. Eduation Boaa'd, proceeded to the Bush by the early train yesterday morning to present tlhe Coronation medals to the children. The first sohool visited was that at Soarborough. Here member si of the School Committee 'had assembled at a. very early hour, together with several parents.' Mr Vile made a patriotic speech, and the medals were hflmded to the children by Mrs Vile. A little later in, the mo.fn.ing the ceremony was repeated at the Mamigaliao school, and towards noon at Ballanco. At er*oh centra the pupils entered -with spirit into the proceedings, and, -after giving lusty cheers for tlio King and •the visitors, were dismissed for the day. In the afternoon, at the District High School at Pahiatua, there was a goodly assemblage of parents aind friend. Addresses were given by the Mayor, of Pahiatua. (Mr W. W. MoCardle); Mr J. D. Wilson (chairman, of tliio School Committee), and Mr A. H. Vale, and patriotic -songs wore rendered by the children, after -which the medals wore nrer-roited.
