DOMINION DAIRY SHOW. HAWERA, Last Night. The second Dominion Winter Dairy Show was opened this afternoon iby His Excellency the Governor, ill the presence of a large attendance of visitors. The Hon. T. Mackenzie was also present. There was a- splendid display in all divisions. The cheese awards were as follow: Greytowa (Wairarapa.) 93J-, first class for white, with Kaponga 93, Hawera 92-J next; coloured, Kaponga 91, Hawera 93, Hawera 92-J-. The Taranaki championship was> won by Ngaiiro with 95£. Tariki (94&) was second, and Kaponga (94) third. In, tihe single cheese class Tariki secured 94, Kaponga 93J, Hawera 93; medium cheese, Tariki 93i, Kaponga 93, Dalefield 92-J-; loaf clieese, Ngaire 92, Kaponga 91*, Dalefield 91. N.Z. RUGBY UNION. WELLINGTON, Last Night. The management committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union decided this evening that the North v. South Island match be played at Wellington on October 7th. The Southland Union's- action in removing the disqualification form W. G. Carrie was endorsed. Action was deferred in. reference to an appeal by the White Star Club. (Wiestport) against/ fe decision of the Buller Union in awarding Capo Foulwind a win on, the ground that the White - Star team did not co-operate under the Union's insurance fund. Tlie South Auckland Union wrote protesting against the Auckland Union asking that a Ranfurly Shield matoh he played on a Wednesday. It was decided that a copy of the letter 'be sent to the Auckland Union. The Wellington- Rugby Union has agreed to play W. Parata's Maori touring team on August 16th.
