D. , Eraser to stand for the Hawke's .Bay seat,' and he will be approached with, that oibject when he has quite '• ■ recovered from his indisposition. •A letter-received in few day® ago lends additional colour to th'e rumour that the Hon. T. Mackenzie intends to contest a Nortfli Island seat at the coming general elections. The letter says it is common knowledge in his electorate .that .Mr Ohas. Ball, M.P. for Waipawa, is to be given a seat in "oh© Legislative Council. It is interesting to note in this connection that the Hon. Mr Mackenzie has just "ispent a holiday in the electorate!" It is stated Arthur Wiffen, of Blenheim, has decided to contest y the Wairau seat at the forthcoming .. general election,' in the Liberal interests..
