Since Bert Treweek's recent defeat at Hastings by Freddie Kerr, the New Zealand Feather-weight champion, the Masteriton Club has found it,necessary to cancel the match between these two men, and secrure a more formidable opponent for the . doughty little boxer from Te Horo. The Club'® efforts to / provide areally first-olaes fight have resulted ' successfully, and the champion, will now meet Frank _ Ellas, of Wellington, wlho so easily won. the Featherweight championship at the Stadium on Saturday last, by accounting for two men in less than three minutes. Ellis has not yet been defeated, and won the Dominion bantam-weight championship at Palmers-ton. North last year in a most decisive fashion. His record is too well-known to necessitate a review, and his brilliant bout with "Sailor" Duffy, of H.M.S. Cambrian, last week, confirmed the favourable opinions of numerous patrons of the ringside. Kerr is in tiptop form, and may be depended upon to-make matters very lively fdr the Wellington! an, and the cutest promises to''be ,on© of the most Exciting events of this season's boxing.
