NO-LICENSE IN MASTERTON.
A CARTERTON ENQUIRY. Thirty-isax tradespeople, two medical men, and two ministers of religion in Cartartoin, have petitioned Mas-ter-ton tradesmen for • information concerning the effects of No-lio-nse in this township. The petition' reads a.s> follows:—"Owing to per,si stent contradictory reports regarding the results, of No-licanse on the business of Master-ton, we, the undersigned business and professional men • of Carterton, have, resolved to ask you to kindly give definite answers to the following questions: (1) What effect has No-dicense had on your business, if any? (2) What effect Juais No-license had on public order and the general moral tone of the community ? (3) Would it,, in your opinion,, be to the best interests of the town to have licenses restored? To these questions, answers have already been given by about seventy tradespeople of Master-ton. The answers will be given in a summarised form at the No-license anniversary demonstration to be held in the. Town Hall on Friday next.
