If he were Prime Minister, he says, he would put a stop to the show of wigs, gowns, and powdered faces, which is like Barnum's Band." SHOULDERING THE BLAME. Received This Morning, 12.55 o'clock. MELBOURNE, June 25. Mr W. M. Hughes explains the levee incident by stating that it is usual for only the Prime Minister to attend such functions. He was sick himself, and made no provision to be repreented. He shouldered the whole blame.
