RECIPROCITY BILL
ACTION OF THE DEMOCRATS. AMENDMENTS TO BE RESISTED. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock ) WASHINGTON, June 24. Twelve Democratic Senators have decided to vote against all amendments to the Reciprocity Bill. This action, it is.explained, is likely t6 lead to the destruction of the Democratic-insurgent-Republican coalition. Consideration of Mr Roots' amendment has been fixed for Monday. Several Senators have privately admitted that a vigorous effort will be made to add Democratic amendments to the Reciprocity Bill, in order to get it past the President. Mr Roots admitted that there is a likelihood of the defeat of his amendment. THE PRESIDENT DETERMINED. Receivea Tins Morning, 12.15 o'clock. WASHINGTON, June 25. President Taft will veto any Tariff Bills which may be submitted. He has expressed his determination that the Reciprocity Bill shall pass.
