THE FOREIGN LEGATIONS AND THE CHURCHES. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) LISBON, June 24. The various Foreign Legations have recommended their respective Governments to withhold recognition of the Republic until the foreign churches in Portugal are exempted from the clauses of the new law, placing their hnancial and other affairs under the complete control of a Portuguese Administrative Committee.
