The Waararapa senior representative hockey team beat Poverty Bay by three goals to two, a-fiar a fast and exciting game. Gisborne started pressing for a time, then Wairarapa started a good rush, which was well saved. Hatch made several good runs 1 , hut his shooting was faulty. There was better combination among the forwards, Williams and Morgan played a good game for the winners. The Gisborne forwards did not charge their opponents nor hook their sticks. Once they were Wat-en for the ball they would not re«over it.
