DEATH UNDER CHLOROFORM. INYERCARGILL, Last Night. An inquest was held to-day regarding the death of Ivy. Helen Snow, aged twenty, a single woman, who died at a. dental establishment last Wednesday whilst under chloroform for the purpouse of having lier teetih extracted. The following was the verdict:—"That death was. due to heart failure, owing to deceased suffering from fatty' infiltration of the heart, which ivuld not be detected by examination/during life." DESTROYED BY FIRE. CHRISTCttURCH, Last Night. A five-roomed house in Sydenham, owned and occupied by Mrs Kate Nixon, was destroyed by fire last night. The house was insured for £3OO and the furniture for £IOO in the Royal Office. DROWNED IN A DITCH. BLENHEIM, Last Night. This morning the body of a fisherman, Edward Heppieston, was found in a ditch, containing about six inches of water. Deceased wais last seen last, night at ,10 o'clock, and it is presumed he was. on his way home when he fell into the ditch. He was a native, of England, and it is not known \\h ether he iiad aary relative* in New Zealand
