FALSE DESCRIPTIONS OF MEAT.

In the House of Commons, Sir Edward Strachey, Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture, in reply to 4 question by M& C. W. Bowerman, Labour member for Deptford, said it was almost impossible to prove that false trade descriptions were being applied fo in> ported meat, owing to the difficulty in the way of establishing faots as to the actual country of origin. The Board of Agriculture would, he added, be glad to receive particulars regarding specific cases.
