• THE IMPERIAL IDEAL. WELCOMING oFIMMIGRANTS. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) LONDON, June 10. A number of overseas branches were represented at the annual conference of the Victoria League. Lord Plunket, iji the course of an address, stated that persons with in experience of the overseas peoples realised that sentiment was a tremendous factor in the growth of the Im- ' perial ideal, and in the maintenance of an United Empire. Mr Rollett stated that the New Zealand League was doing good work in .assisting young Englishmen to fit themselves for the farming life. She pleaded for a more systematic method of welcoming immigrants. An English delegate suggested an 'interchange of school teachers.
