U.S.A. ARMY CONTRACTS.
OPENING FOR NEW ZEALAND BEEF- v A letter forwarded by Mr F. J. Shelton, representative of the Producers' Association, to Mr W. D. Lysnar, of Gishorne, was read at the meeting of the Masterton A. and P. Association on Saturday. The letter was written from Honolulu, and covered the result of an interview with "Mr G. J. Waller, manager of the Hawaii Meat Company, Ltd. Mr Waller stated tfliat he would be tendering for the supply of beef for the United States Army contract. The contract would he for a quantity of "from 50,000 to x 70,0001b5. of beef monthly for a term of eleven months from "August Ist. As there is only one line of steamers calling at New "Zealand ports for Honolulu, and as this line (the Canadian-Australian) does not commence running xintil August, Mr Sheltori did not make a definite quotation. He suggested,, however, that Mr Lysnar should oable a quotation to Mr Waller.
