EAST MAURICEVILLE. A club has been formed here of miniature rifle enthusiasts. The officers of the Club are as follows: Patrons, Messrs* R. Cameron and F. Rummer; President, Mr C Blewett ; Vice-Presidents, Messrs T. Hiilas, G. Dryden, J. Kennedy, R. Brooks; Captain,. Mr F. Pairkes; Vice-captain Mr O'Brien; Secretary and Treasurer, Mr J. Baraett. The last competition, which aroused a good deal of interest, was won by Mr F. Parkes, with Mr W. Fisher second and Mr, W. Farmer third. The Club are a* present shooting for a trophy given, by.Mi- Roigard. A picture show which was to have showed here on Wednesday night, did not turn up. The result was a good many disappointed ones. TMa is not the first time these travelling picture, companies have disappointed the public, and the fact is to hj& regretted, for companies that dot show on advertised dates do not receive tlie ishare of patronage that they merit. The members of the Hail Compar - are making preparations for holdr .- their annual plain and fancy drc. , ball on the 9th prox. Mr G. Blackmore, statdonmaste;, and Mrs Blackmore, are at present spending their' annual holiday an the Auckland district. Mr Bennett, relieving officer, As acting stationmaster, in place of Mr Blackmore.
