WAIRARARA SWIMMING CLUB.

ANNUAL SOCIAL AND DANCE

The annual social and dance of the { Wairarapa Amateur Swimming Club was held in the Exchange Hall last; night. About forty-five couples graced the floor, which was in very good order for dancing. Excellent music was supplied by Mr R. Mcintosh. Credit is due to the Secretary, (Mr J. Georgeson)j..who was assisted at the door by MrS. Hunter, for the completeness of the arrangements. The evening was rather warm, but the room was well ventilated, and chairs were arranged in the lobbies and on the balcony. The duties of M.C.'s were admirably carried out by the gentlemen's committee, consisting of Messrs A. 1). Gillies, J. Georgeson, J. A. McEwen, G. H. Cullen, A. H. Eddy, and J. Pryor. Mr J. Pryor apologised for the absence of the President of the Club, His Worship the Mayor (Mr J. M. Coradine). v , Mr D. Caselberg, Patron, presented the trophies won during the season, a,list of which appears in another column. Before doing so, Mr Caselberg congratulated the Club on the success of the.past year, and wished, it every success in the future.

A sumptuous supper was provided, and the most successful dance held under the auspices of the Club was brought to a close in the small hours of this morning.
