ART IN SCHOOLS.
MR R. LEE'S PROPOSAL. At the meeting of the Wellington Education Board yesterday, Mr Robert Lee (chairman) moved that a sum of £SO be expended in procuring art pictures, to be (placed in foameis in the schools .'of the district.' Mir Lee. spoke at considerable length in 'support of his motlion, stating that the pictures on the walls of .many of the scliools at present were anything but artistic. Mr A. W. Hogg, M.P., in supporting the resolution, said the time wa.s not far distant when pictures would be exhibited by klnematograph in the assembly .rooms of the larger schools. The resolution of the chaLr.man was carried, and Inspector Temiant, who is visiting England, was in.structed~fco expend £*>o in procuring art pictures.
