THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES.
Another good audience was present at the Foresters' Hall last evening, to witness- the current programme of pictures. The programme consists of educational, dramatic, scenic and humorous pictures, all up to the firm's u<4ual high standard. In the dramas, "A Woman's Wit" (<a tale of the Mexican revolt),' "A Son of Old Glory," "An Eye for an Eye," and "A Painful Debt," were the best. Sensation, intermingled with a proportion of that accessary element, love, was to be found in every drama, and a good selection was screened. "Gun Practice on a Dreadnought" portrayed, the crews at practice at,sea,*and was a splendid picture, while "The Romance of Lazy K" was a particularly fine cowboy comedy-drama. • A number of other excellent pictures went to make up a very enjoyable programme, wliichwill be repeated this evening.

Americans, and come to our shores with*, big. reputations. They have appeared iiiullife'; d.vidised countries in the world. Hue following is from the Dunedin Star t —"Fifteen performers provided the new entertainment at the Alhambra Theatre last night. Of these three were strangers. These three, Miss Nada Moret and Martiinetiti and Grossi, were really worth all the others and the orchestra put together. Martinetti and Grossi are American novelty surprise artists, and it is a long time since the supporters of the Alhamhra enjoyed so novel an entertainment. Misis Nada Moret has a fine voice and soothes the eaxs tared of hearing musical noises, and her manner is delightful. Of the many coloured bassos heard here not on© can approach the resonate quality of Mr E. D. Martin's telling voice. Mr Martin is late of the Fisk Jubilee Stingers, who are well remembered' here." The other members of the 1 Company include the world'is trio comedy musical sketch artists, Black and Umber, vocalists and musicians; and dancing Eddie, America's champion buck and wing dancer.
