MASTERTON TECHNICAL SCHOOL
MEETING OF MANAGERS
The monthly meeting of the Managers of the Masterton Technical School was held last evening. There were present: Messrs W. H. Jaskson (Chairman), C. E. Daniell, J. M. Coradine, and E. H. Waddington. The Treasurer reported a credit balance at date £l2l 10s Bd.
The Secretary was instructed to write to the "Wellington Woollen Manufacturing Co., thanking them for their promise to loan a quantity of wool for the purpose of the woolclasses. Mr E. L. Lees submitted a report on the progress of the wool-classes, which was considered most satisfactory. Mr Daniell reported having arranged with Mr Blackman to have a lamp placed on the outside corner of the workshop in such a manner as to light the approach to the entrance. Mr Jackson reported having arranged with local firms for quotations for supplying certain equipment for use in the art room. Mr Jackson further intimated that Mr Isaac, the Education Department's Inspector of Technical Education, had promised to recommend the Department to grant half the cost of certain equipment required for the classes conducted at the school. The Secretary was instructed to write to Mr Isaac, asking him to furnish the managers with a schedule showing what he would consider a satisfactory equipment for a class of, say, 10 pupils, in the study of electricity. On the motion of Mr Daniell, seconded by Mr Jackson, it was resolved to offer Mr Foss the appointment of instructor to the proposed class in electricity, provided that.the required number of pupils is forthcoming, and that the foe for same be fixed at 10s per term, reducible in the case of Free Place Holders to os per term. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr Daniell, seconded by Mr Jackson, that the school be closed on Coronation week, and that the time lost be i made up at the end of the term. In the case of certain pupils who, according to the amended regulations, j are under age (being less than 14 years), or who are at present on the j roll of the Masterton District High l School, it was resolved that they be allowed to continue attendance till the .end of.the current' term, after which the regulations must be adhered to. . . - ;

Accounts amounting to £9 Is 8d \?ere passed for payment, and tbe meeting adjourned.
