A PLEASING CEREMONY.

PRESENTATION TO MR W. L. FALCONER.

A pleasing litle ceremony was performed at the annual meeting of the members of the Wairarapa Caledon-. ian Society last Saturday afternoon. In an interval the chairman (Mr A. MeLeod) took occasion to refer to the coming departure on a. trip to the Old Country of Mr W. L. Falconer, one of their, most prominent and enthusiastic members. The members thought that they, could not let Mr Falconer depart without showing in some degree their regard and appreciatdan of 'his many sterling qualities. In handing Mi' Falconer a very handsome travelling rug, the President expressed the opinion that no doubt their departing member would return with some valuable information regarding the working of kindred societies at Home.

Mr Falconer, who was completely taken by surprise, thanked those present for the kindly that had prompted, the gift, < He had beenassociated with the Society for many years, and it would be a pleasure to- him to give an account of his stewardship among the societies ati Home.
