GHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. In reply to questions as to the public holidays, to be observed next month, when the matter was brought before Mm when he was in Orristchuroh, by the Mayor (Mr T: E. Millar has telegraphed that he finds on enquiry that May 24itfo will not be observed as a public holiday in public offices; that June 3rd' will be observed m the King's Birthday; that June 22tnd (Coronation Day) willy no doubt, be generally observed throughout the Dominion, and that the Government has decided that there will be no observance of the amniver&ary of the Heir Apparent'® birthday (June 23rd).
