Mrs L. J. Hooper, of Masterton, is. at present spending a few days holiday in Palmerston with her, daughter, Mrs J. Lomax.

Dr. Coombe, the greatest Nerth African Missionary, will pay an evangelistic"visti to New Zealand next October.

Mrs H. T. Wood, of Masterton, leaves this morning for Auckland, where she intends spending a short holiday.

The death occurred at Te Ore Ore yesterday morning of Mrs Manihera, a Maori chief fcainess, who was a wellknown throughout the Wairarapa. One daughter, Piki Manihera. is left to mourn her loss, and she will have the universal symirathy of a larq;e circle of Natives. The funeral will take placo on Sunday, and a largo tangi will Ix? held.
