SYDNEY, May 12

Mr Carmichael told a depuration seeking information oonvorning the Government proposals regarding the providing of cheaper homes for workers, that he intended to introduce a Bill next session which would enable tliß Government to purchase lands and erect dwellings, which they would sell to anyone who wished to buy. He was satisfied that'he could supply, purchasers with a reasonably good house for the payment of 10s weekly. This must interfere with private landlords, but it could not be helped.
