EXPERIMENTAL FARMS.
The announcement made in the South yesterday by the Minister for Agriculture, that Cabinet has authorised the appointment of a qualified Director of Experimental Farms, is of more .than ordinary interest. It serves to show that the Government is desirous of doing something practical foithe much-abused farmer. If a suitable Director were appointed, and he was given 'Something like a free hand, there is reason to think that the resources of this fertile country would be developed in a marked and permanent manner.
