LOYAL ORANGE INSTITUTION.

Last Night. The annual conference of the Loyal Orange Institution of New Zealand opened on Saturday. R.... G.M.N. Meredith presided, and on behalf of the delegates of the Grand Lodge welcomed the Mayor (Mr C. Allison) who, in the course of a speech, said it gave him pleasure to welcome the Orangemen because he Avas convinced they were banded together for one great purpose—the unity of the British Empire. Over 200 delegates, representing 66 districts, and a great numiber of visitors from all parts of the Dominion were present at the opening session. A parade was largely attended this afternoon.
