NEW MILKING MACHINE.

INVENTED BY A SOUTHLANDER. A new milking machine has been invented by a young mechanical engineer in Southland, and is said to •be the most compact machine that has been seen in New Zealand. The inventor's originality is seen in the pulsator, which is small and beautifully ingenious, calling somewhat, to mind the triple valve of the Westinghouse brake. By means of a set screw on the pulsator the piston can be regulated to perform 300 strokes per minute, or any intermediate number. The need of such adjustment is necessary because cows vary very much in the amount of pressure required to make them yield their milk.
