ANNIVERSARY SOCIAL. >
The social held in the Presbyteriss schoolroom in Masterton last evening was largely attended by both children ;ind parents. Addresses were givfn by Mr Jas . McGregor senr. ami Rev. A. T. Thompson, both congratulating tlie scholars and teachers on the progressive work done during the year. The annual balance sheet and report was read, and proved highly satisfactory. A special request was made to Mr Young to repeait at next Sunday's morning and evening services the anniversary hymns as sung last Sunday. The request was acceded to, and .all helpers/and scholars are asked to iittend again next Sunday. A vote of thanks was passed to all who had assisted in the school and anniversary. Tlie following programme was gone through, and was well received by the- audience: — Hymn, children ; recitation, "The Rose and the Waif," Mary MoKenzic; piano solo, Miss Helen McGregor; dialogue, "The Wishes," two girls* and two boys; recitation, "Spring Walk," Mabel Ghappel; vocal solo, Miss McGregor; recitation, "King and the. Child," Miss M. McGregorsolo and chorus, Master Bishop and 'chorus; 'recitation, "May Morning," Chrissie Peters ; dialogue, three girls . and one .boy; recitation, Nessie Chappel; song "a Little Child Shall Lead Them," Agnes McCormack; violin solo, Master McKenzio; song, Mr Young (encored.)
