THE FROZEN MEAT TRADE.
RISKS OF PRODUCERS. Mr W. D. Lysnar informed a representative of the Age on Satui*day that he was in possession of information supplied him by officials of the Wellington Farmers' Meat Company, , which shows that 30 per cent, of the meat which has passed through the Waingawa works has been shipped on owners' account. He desires to point out that this phase of tlie discussion should not influence the producers at this juncture, as, in the first instance, the TV-hole quantity of the output is the producer's, and, according to the statements made by Messrs Buchanan and Foster, tihe freezing companies are only, purchasers by force of circumstances, Mr Lysnar thinks that these circumstances are produced solely by the disinclination of producers to take the risk of losses at Home. ' 'Could there be any stronger argument,'.' he asks, "in favour of the movement to k reduce the risk at the other end, and thereby induce owners to ship on their own account?"
