Mr D. E. Parton, formerly of the Masterton Post Office, and more recently of Taihape, has been on a visit to Masterton. . He leaves here for Wellington this morning, en route for Fiji, where he has received an appointment under the Fijian Government to take charge of the electrical installations throughout the Islands. Mr Parton expects to be absent from the Do ninion for sis or twelve months. Mrs Parton and family will reside in Masterton during that period.

Mr A. W. Hogg, M.P., yeserday received an invitation to ,be present at a banquet to be tendered to the Hon. R. McKenzie at Pongaroa on Tuesday. Mr Hogg finds it impossible for him to be present. ■
