A SEVERE GALE.

CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE REPORTED. {By Telegraph — Press Association.} EKETAHUNA, Last Night. The Haunui correspondent of the Eketahuna Express reports that by a severe gale on Tuesday, Mr E. Jewitt's new residence was considerably damaged, the wind blowing the timber through several large windows. The gale freshened up log fires on one property, and these spread at Kent Terrace, The Ranch, and Otapapawa. The residences were only saved by strenuous efforts. The damage was confined to firewood and fencing. One settler was temporarily blinded.
