FAREWELL SERVICES.
IN THE METHODIST CHURCH. In the Masterton Methodist Church yesterday farewell addresses were delivered by the Rev. C. H. Olds, who has been' appointed by Conference to take up work in the Wellington circuit, and who leaves for that town this week. . The congregations at each service were very large, especially that of the evening service, the Church being crowded. At the morning sorvire, Mr Olds took his text from Phil. 3: 13-14. Mr Olds urged his congregation to press forward, like the Apostle, to the mark of the high" calling of Christ Jesus. It was necessary to forget the past. To remember past defeats would mean discouragement, as also the remembrance, of successes would bring selfeontentment. The Christian must forget these past defeats and successes, except for the experience that was sained by them. Mr Olds concluded an earnest apneal by urging his hearers to follow the Apostle's example, by ever pressing forward, looking not behind. In the eveninc Mr Olds farewell mesage was from 2 T\m. 2 : 8. "R-emember Jesus Christ." He urged his congregation to remember as a personal, living, active Saviour —Jesus Christ, the Sou of God. FAREWELL SOCIAL.
