FINE RESIDENCE DESTROYED.
GBEYMOUTH, Last Ni.it. Mr Hugh Scott's fine residence at Nelson Creek, which contained a valuable collection of pictures and also some splendid furniture, was totally destroyed by lire at midnight. The insurance in the Victoria Office is £350, but Mr ScOtt estimates his loss at from £BOO to £lO-- above the insurance. The occupants barely escaped with* their lives.
