MELBOURNE, March 19
The match between the Australia Eleven and the Rest of Australia was continued yesterday. Owing to rain play was stopped early.
Australia has lost six wickets for 267 —Kelleway (35), Matthews (not out, 92), and Trumper (62) being the, chief scorers.
(On the first day's play Rest of Australia compiled 3-16 in their first innings.) ,
SCHOOL MATCH
WELLINGTON-WAIR A RAPA' RE- ' PRESENTATIVES.,
The annual match between representatives of the Wellington and Wairarapa schools was played on the Basin Reserve at Wellington on Saturday. The groundsman had prepared an excellent wicket.
1 The Wellington captain "(J. Anderson) won the toss and elected to hat. The local representatives made but a poor showing against the fast* (comparatively) bowling of Beard, who captured eight wickets for four runs. Leggett (10) and Curry (9), both of Mount Cook, top-scored for the Wellington representatives, whose innings yielded but 33 runs, including seven extras.
The country boys made a much better showing, compiling 105, giving them a lead of 72. Perry played a nice innings for .53. n
The'Wairafapa boys won by five wickets.
