The Government is pursuing a proper counse in offering a substantial bonus for the discovery of machinery which will effect a reasonable economy in the manufacture 'f
New Zealand flax into fibre. The cast of labour and the royalties charged are so high just now f-hat the flax industry is in a languishing condition. The only "hope of :e----viviug it is the discovery of ?ome effective labqixr-saving appliance.
