MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.
In- view of the approaching municipal elections, it is well that some early move should be made by the ratepayers of the borough in the direction of selecting candidates, under the amended' legislation of last iseisision the choice of candidate's is .somewhat restricted, whilst the franchise has ibeen considerably extended. At the present juncture there is meed of an energetic, progressive Council to support the Mayor in the conduct of the business or the town, ajud it is- desirable tJh'at the civic fatherhood should be strengthened as far as possible.
