A GOVERNMENT CANDIDATE.
Mr J. T. M. Hornsby, who will address the electors in 'the Maisterton Town HaiLon Monday evening next, is ithe chosen Government candidate for the Wairarapa seat. His reason for coming'here is that he , will be able to speak liere to quite a considerable! number of electors; an the Wairarapa district. This may seem aniomatkraiS, but *it is none .the less a fact. The boundaries of the electorates, as at prc-senit arranged, produce -some remark-able idiqsymcracies. Mr Hornsby is always interesting, and is an effective platform speaker. He may therefore depend upon a satisfactory audience. He is attempting a somewhat haz- ' arduous Itlask' in undertaking the defence, of a Government whose administration is so transparently defective and whose policy is of such a see-isavv character. Nevertheless, he may be trusted to make the black spots look as white as possible. » -
