HARBOUR BOARD ELECTION.
It is , pleasing to find; that a liv > x y interessfc is being manifested in toe Barbour Board elections, which rake place sinvuLtaiieously with the municipal election next mouth. It is not improbable there will be four or five candidates for the two Wairara.pa seats. The Forty-Mile lh>su naturally claims that it" has a r ; jht (to representation, and the Lo.v..'jValley may even contest the light of Masterton to have two artives on the Board. Mean iv title, three Masterton candidates' arid one Forty-Mile Bush candidarte have intimated their intention of going to the poll. Apart from the manifest absurdities in the Act under which the election is being held, rtfhe awakening of interest in the affairs \of a local body which has had a reputation for extravagance is ;a Healthy.sign. .■■"'"■' '""-■'.■':■.:.' -.'' •""
