WAIRARAPA CALEDONIAN SOCIETY
A special general meeting of members of the above was held in the Do- ] minion Hall on Saturday, for the pur- - pose of confirming a resolution— I (1). That the Society be registered un- ! der the "Incorporated Societies' Act, 1908"; (2). That the revised rules as amended be adopted; (3). General. Mr A. W. McLeod (president) occupied the chair. The secretary reported that Mr 0. Pragnell, solicitor, had advised that it was necessary under the "Incorporated Societies' Act, 1908," to obtain the consent of at least one-half of the members of the Society, before same could bo incorporated. It was resolved that the secretary be empowered to get the consent of the majority of members as provided by the Act. The following additional amendments to the rules wore aproved: "That the end of the Society's financial year be March 31st." "that the annual general meeting <<f. members be held on the second Saturday in May." "That the Society be empowered to elect Hon. Life Directors." The rules, as revised, were adopted by the meeting. It was resolved that the secretary write to the secretary of the Highland Pipe Band for information as to what has been done or is proposed to. be done in reference to Mr Buchanan's offer, and report to the next meeting of directors on March 11th. A very hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr 6. Pragnell for the valj liable advice and the assistance renI dored by him in connection with regj istering the Society under the . ''J ncorporated Societies' Act."
