MASTERTON HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
Notwithstanding the wet day on Saturday, no less than 346 entries were received for the Horticultural Society's Autumn Show, to be'held >n Wednesday. Quite another 100 were advised by telephone, and it is expected that the 500 mark i.ill be reached. Many new exhibitors and many who have not shown t u* several seasons have made substa.iiul entries The Committee will • a --e their workcut out. to accommodate tV'Tfi all, in the Town Hall. Owing to ilnur fceir.g so many entries. still; to come it is hardly possible to give a resume of the different'classes,' but -t might be mentioned that several of the home industries classes < hat have been neglected for some time have brought out splendid entries, proving the wisdom of retaining them in the schedule. Fine weather is now the only desidor atum for a great show.
